Privacy Policy
Gesture Synth is built around local processing. Your webcam frames and performance recordings stay in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.
1. Who we are
Gesture Synth is the free, anonymous browser instrument available at gesturesynth.cc. It lets you control synthesized sound with webcam-detected hand gestures. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@gesturesynth.cc.
2. What we do not collect
Gesture Synth has no accounts, passwords, user profiles, payment checkout, contact-list access, precise-location request, cloud upload, or server-side recording library. We do not sell or share personal information. The current service does not use submitted data to train an AI model.
3. Camera access and hand tracking
The site requests camera access only after you press Start camera. Camera access is used to display the live stage and calculate hand landmarks in your browser. Gesture Synth does not request microphone access. Hand tracking runs locally with MediaPipe Tasks Vision; frames are not sent to Google or another inference API.
You can stop camera access by closing the page or revoking permission in your browser. The informational sections remain available without enabling the camera.
4. Local recordings
When your browser supports it, the optional recorder combines the rendered canvas with synthesized audio for up to 15 seconds. The browser creates a temporary Blob URL for replay and download. There is no cloud storage fallback. Replacing or discarding a take revokes the previous URL, and closing the page removes remaining temporary recording data.
5. Technical data and cookies
Standard hosting infrastructure may process basic request data such as IP address, browser user agent, requested file, time, and security signals. Those logs are controlled by the hosting provider and do not contain camera frames, hand landmarks, or recordings.
Gesture Synth uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand page views, referring pages, approximate location, device and browser details, session activity, clicks, and scrolling. These services may set analytics cookies or use similar identifiers. They do not receive camera frames, hand landmarks, synthesized audio, or local recordings.
You can limit analytics through browser cookie and privacy controls, the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and the controls described in Microsoft's privacy statement. Gesture Synth also uses Google AdSense and Adsterra to support the free service.
6. Google AdSense, Adsterra, and advertising
Google, Adsterra, and their advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to serve, measure, prevent fraud, and personalize ads where consent and applicable law permit. Third parties may place or read cookies in your browser or use web beacons to collect information as a result of ad serving.
Advertising tags load when a homepage opens. You can learn how Google uses information in Google's partner-sites notice, manage Google ad personalization at My Ad Center, review Adsterra's privacy policy, and use your browser's privacy controls.

8. Retention
Camera frames and hand landmarks exist only in the active browser session. Local performance recordings remain only until you discard them, replace them, or close the page. Analytics and advertising identifiers and usage data are retained according to the configured periods and privacy policies of Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Google AdSense, and Adsterra. Hosting access and security logs may be retained by the infrastructure provider for its documented security and operational period.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data. California residents may also ask what categories of personal information are handled and request deletion or correction. Gesture Synth does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Because Gesture Synth has no account database, we may hold little or no information that can be linked back to you. Send a request to privacy@gesturesynth.cc; we will respond within 30 days when reasonably possible and may need enough information to verify the request.
10. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, or under the higher minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact us for review.
11. Security and international access
The site uses HTTPS. Its no-account design means there are no Gesture Synth passwords or payment details to expose. Normal internet routing, hosting, and the analytics providers may process technical or usage data in countries other than your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
12. Changes and contact
We will update this policy before adding accounts, uploads, cloud storage, or other material data uses, and will change the date at the top when material terms change. Contact privacy@gesturesynth.cc with privacy questions or requests.
